REALISTIC ART PAINTING - current
Attending the college of arts allowed me to conceive and create the Abstract Art ideas that earned me a distinction with my degree, and gave me the objective to develop it further after graduating. While pursuing that, I also had the desire to gain skills to do realistic drawing and painting. A three-month stint in Italy to learn a technique on how to draw better gave me a lot in so little time, which will serve me for the rest of my life. But intentionally set up by forces outside of myself to live with great and insurmountable setbacks after setbacks, including the recently past pandemic, displaced me from living and fully developing my arts. Despite the ever suppressive dark cloud looming, a silver lining appeared in the Summer of 2022, when I came upon the Evolve Realistic Art program online. The program I am currently in is a lot of hard work to learn the fundamental techniques of realistic painting, but with it comes great reward and inspiration seeing the results of being able to produce great quality works of art. It also opens for me the opportunity, for a later time, to incorporate the techniques I am learning with the abstract art ideas I still have.
ABSTRACT ART - past work
The idea of putting gesture marks on the drawing paper were developed while attending the college of arts, from the warm-up exercises for figure drawings, where a specific structure of a figure is first established from a pose prior to filling in the major parts of the subject. Outside of the class, instead of continuing to draw the figure over the framework of gesture line, I used it as the subject itself of my paintings. In one category, I make a gesture mark on a paper using ink to make a stand alone minimalist abstract art, not necessarily of a human figure; or, in other instances, I use it as an object for oil painting where I make a paint mark and also paint the space around it in colors, creating an illusion of an abstracted figure in a fixed act and moment, like a dancer in a freeze-frame photograph. That figure in a dancing act was the original concept that gave me the spark to use the gesture drawing marks on paper or canvas as means of expressing that idea. Having the material for this concept and now learning the discipline of painting will give me enough to build-up a body of work.
ART INVESTMENT
As I invest my time creating art, it is also my objective to gain your interest and to empower you and the public at large to participate in my art making. Anyone can be an art collector, it is not as expensive or complicated, or only for a few, as most of us think. Making an investment in the arts, wether collecting, commissioning, or sponsoring is a very rewarding deed. I invite you to invest in my work, by making a purchase, inviting others to visit this site, and/or by giving monetary gifts to support my work, my only means of making a living and best of all to grow your love of arts.
